Milagros, miracles in Spanish, are tiny tokens of divinity. Ancient Iberians in Spain presented milagros to shrines as expressions of gratitude & devotion. Spaniards brought milagros to Central & South America, where Indigenous people already followed similar ritual offering traditions. The syncretism led to the popularity of milagros across Latin America, especially in Mexico & Peru. Wearing a milagro invokes the power & magic of belief.
